Logan County VINELink Release Coverage
Kentucky VINE, or Victim Information and Notification Everyday, is a free statewide custody-information and alert system. It draws information from participating jail booking systems, adult correctional facilities, and certain other sources. Logan County publishes an unusually clear local detail: VINE scans the detention center's booking computers every ten minutes.
Use VINELink or call 800-511-1670. Kentucky guidance says a current-custody result can provide the jail or institution address and phone. When the person is no longer held by the reporting source, VINE may give the date released. That status is useful evidence of a Logan County release event, but it is not a complete custody history.
A VINE release means the reporting custodian recorded an event. Check for transfer, detainer, state custody, federal custody, or immigration custody before describing community release.
The Logan live roster serves a different role. It shows current county custody. Disappearance from that roster is not a substitute for a VINE event or jail release sheet.
Search One Logan County Inmate
Open VINELink, select Kentucky, and choose the custody or offender search. Enter the full name or an offender identifier. Search with enough detail to distinguish people, then open the matching record and compare all identifiers supplied. Interface wording can change, so follow the current prompts rather than an old screenshot.
- Select Kentucky in the VINELink location control.
- Enter the person's full name or the available offender identifier.
- Open the closest result and compare identity details before relying on it.
- Read whether the result says in custody, released, transferred, or another status.
- Record the status, event date, reporting facility, and time of the check.
If no match appears, retry reasonable name forms and confirm spelling. A no-result can reflect timing, data entry, source participation, or a move to another custody system. It does not prove that the person was released. The Logan County release-record search paths provide the jail-record and court alternatives.
Read Logan County VINELink Status
Each source answers a narrow question. A VINE event answers what a reporting jail or prison sent to the alert system. The Logan County jail release sheet is the best local documentary route for the recorded date, time, release type, and destination or receiving custodian if recorded. A signed court order can explain legal authority, but the order date may precede physical processing.
| Source | What it establishes | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Logan VINE | Reported custody status or event date | End of every hold or case |
| Current jail roster | Current Logan listing | A historical release event |
| Jail release record | Recorded local departure and type | Later release by a receiving agency |
| KOOL and Daily Releases | KDOC status and dated state event | Every local bond or time-served release |
| Court file | Bond, sentence, dismissal, or order | Exact physical departure time |
A transfer is a release from one facility in a narrow system sense, but not release from custody. Preserve the exact status until the receiving source is checked.
Register Logan County Release Alerts
Registration begins from the correct person record. Choose the notification option and select any supported channel, such as telephone, email, text, TTY, or an in-app alert. Multiple phone or email destinations are permitted. A switchboard is a poor choice because the call must reach the registrant.
- Open the verified record and choose notification or registration.
- Select the available delivery channel and enter the contact destination.
- For telephone alerts, create a familiar four-digit PIN.
- Complete the confirmation steps shown by the current interface.
- When a call arrives, enter the PIN to acknowledge it and stop repeats.
Registration is confidential. The person in custody is not told who registered. If the PIN is forgotten, call 800-511-1670 and press 0 for the operator. Keep contact information current, and do not rely on one channel when prompt notice is important.
The official VINELink search screen shows Kentucky selection and registration controls.

The screen is the entry point for a specific-person check, while official jail or state records remain the confirmation source.
Logan County Alert Timing
Logan's booking-computer scan occurs every ten minutes. That is the published polling cadence, not a promise that every event will appear within ten minutes. Source entry, transmission, and vendor processing can create delay. A family member should record when the alert arrived and when a second source was checked.
State guidance says jail-release calls may repeat every 30 minutes for up to 24 hours or until the telephone PIN acknowledges the notice. For a state institution, notice may be attempted as much as 72 hours before release when possible. Parole, an immediate credit change, a court-ordered discharge, or escape can produce notice only when the event occurs.
These timing rules do not create a Logan County 24-hour or 72-hour release archive. The county has no official rolling recent-release page. For a defined recent period, use VINE, request the jail's existing release record, and search individual KDOC Daily Releases reports only when the person belonged to the state correctional population.
Confirm Logan County Release Alerts
VINE is an alert, not a certified record. KDOC documented a February 3, 2026 vendor problem that generated false release alerts. That incident makes independent verification part of the Logan County workflow, even when the message appears precise.
For a local detainee, call the Logan County Detention Center at 270-726-3696 for routing and request the release sheet when documentary proof is needed. Include the full name, date of birth if known, booking range, and case or booking number. Ask for the final release entry, recorded date and time, release type, releasing facility, and destination or receiving custodian if recorded.
For a KDOC-classified person, compare KOOL with the correct Daily Releases PDF. Read “Current Location” carefully. A supervision office differs from a prison; “minimum/detainer” calls for another-custodian check. For a federal sentenced prisoner use BOP, and for suspected immigration custody use ICE's current locator.
Logan County Registry Is Different
The Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry covers only people who have a legal duty to register. It can be searched by offender number or last name, and by address, city, county, ZIP code, and radius. Email users may subscribe to ZIP-code or individual-change alerts.
A registry result is not a VINE release event. Presence does not establish parole, probation, or present custody. Absence says nothing about a person who has no registration duty. KSP also warns that it cannot guarantee absolute accuracy and forbids misuse or harassment.
Use the registry only for its defined public-safety purpose. Use VINE for participating custody events, KOOL for Kentucky correctional status, and agency records for proof.
Logan County Custody Fallbacks
A county jail detainee may bond out or leave after dismissal or time served without entering KDOC. In that case, KOOL and state Daily Releases may show nothing. VINE, the jail release record, and the Logan court file form the local chain. The court explains the bond or order, while the jail record establishes recorded physical departure.
A KDOC prisoner released from Logan County Detention Center may appear in a dated state report with a release type and “Released From” value. KOOL can then show a prison, supervision district, Home Incarceration Program, Interstate Compact status, or another state location. If the records disagree, consider update timing and request the underlying record.
Federal and immigration systems are separate. BOP's locator covers sentenced federal inmates from 1982 onward. ICE ODLS focuses on current immigration custody and is not a Logan release archive. No VINELink result should be stretched across those custody layers.
Ten-Minute Logan County VINE Scan
The ten-minute scan is distinctive because many local pages offer no public cadence at all. It gives users a basis for checking again after a recent jail event. Yet it remains a scan of booking-computer data, not a guarantee of an accurate community-release conclusion.
Combine the local cadence with the state call rules. A repeating call may simply mean the message was not acknowledged with the PIN. A delayed or corrected status may reflect system handling. The documented false-alert event shows why a precise timestamp still needs a second source.
The safe sequence is short: save the alert details, verify the reporting facility, check for another custodian, and request the final record when the answer must be documented.
Official Logan County VINE Routes
The Logan VINE page documents local access and polling. The detention center page identifies the current-inmate route, while Logan inmate services gives related official jail information. Use those county pages to identify the reporting facility, then use VINELink for the status event and the jail record for documentary proof.
Because each channel has a narrow job, agreement is stronger than repetition. A name missing from the current roster, a VINE released date, and a jail sheet stating the exact release type are three distinct facts. If the jail sheet instead shows a transfer, follow the receiving custodian rather than calling it community release.
Preserve Logan County Alert Details
Keep the displayed name, identifier, reporting facility, event, event date, and message time. Those details help an office locate the right entry and distinguish people with similar names.
Record when VINELink was checked again and when a confirming source was reached. If the status changes, retain both observations. A correction can reflect delay, vendor error, or a revised custodian report. The sequence gives the originating office context to review the alert without asking it to create a new explanation.
