Verify Logan County Supervision

Logan County parole and probation records can show whether a released person remains under Kentucky community supervision. A useful search must separate parole, probation, discharge, and an unresolved violation. It must also distinguish a person who left Logan County custody from one who left state prison. To verify Logan County post-release supervision, match the person in the state correctional record, read the current location in context, and confirm the legal basis through the agency or court that controls it. A missing name or a brief phone response does not prove that all supervision has ended.

Logan County Parole and Probation

Parole and probation both permit a person to live outside a jail or prison under set rules, but they begin in different ways. Parole is release before sentence expiration under conditions imposed through Kentucky's parole system, or release to answer a detainer. A detainer is a request from another authority to hold or receive the person. Probation is imposed by a court, often as part of the sentence. Shock probation is a separate court action that changes how a sentence is served after incarceration has begun.

Mandatory reentry supervision is another status. Under KRS 439.3406, it is legally treated as parole, but it is not a discretionary grant by the Kentucky Parole Board. The label matters because leaving confinement does not always mean final discharge. Logan County parole and probation verification should preserve the exact agency term.

Check Logan County Supervision Records

Begin with Kentucky Offender Online Lookup, known as KOOL. Search by surname and first name, then narrow with a DOC or PID number if one is known. Those state identifiers are safer than a name alone. Open the profile and read “Current Location” literally. A named prison or county jail points to custody. A probation and parole district or office points to community supervision. Home Incarceration Program remains a restrictive correctional status, while Interstate Compact can indicate supervision tied to another jurisdiction.

  1. Search KOOL with the least data needed and open the matching profile.
  2. Confirm the DOC or PID number and another identifier before joining records.
  3. Record the exact current-location and supervision wording, plus the check date.
  4. Call the listed district office for public instructions when KOOL points to community supervision.
  5. Use the Logan court file for probation and request an existing KDOC or Board record when written proof is needed.

KOOL data are updated daily, and recent information may not be final. A county-only detainee who bonded out may never appear because that person did not enter KDOC's population. The Logan County released inmate search explains the separate jail, court, state, federal, and immigration paths.

Logan County Supervision Record Terms

Agency labels describe different stages. Keeping them separate prevents a roster departure from being mistaken for completed supervision. “Released” can describe an event from one custodian while another authority still has legal control.

Parole
Conditional release before sentence expiration, supervised under state rules.
Probation
A court-ordered community sentence or condition, not a parole grant.
Discharge
The end of the identified custody or supervision status, read with its exact qualifier.
Absconder
A person alleged to have stopped reporting or otherwise left supervision without authorization.
Detainer
A hold or notice from another authority that may lead to transfer instead of community release.

A Daily Releases entry stating mandatory reentry supervision does not mean sentence completion. Likewise, “minimum/detainer” calls for a check of the receiving custodian. The source and type of each date should remain attached to it.

Logan County Parole Office Verification

Logan County is served by KDOC Probation and Parole District 2 in the Western Region. The official District 2 page lists a satellite office in Russellville. This is the local public-verification route after KOOL identifies District 2 or another community-supervision location. It is not the place to infer a private residence from an administrative office listing.

Russellville, KY 42276
270-726-6530 or 270-726-4987
Fax: 270-726-1078

The District 2 main office is at 512 South Clay Street, Hopkinsville, KY 42240, at 270-889-6530. KDOC central office is 502-782-2277. Ask for public verification instructions and use the DOC or PID number. Staff may limit what can be disclosed by telephone. Silence, a referral, or nondisclosure does not establish discharge. An existing agency record is the stronger documentary path.

When Logan County Supervision Ends

Final discharge should be shown by an agency or court record that addresses the status at issue. KOOL can show a current location, but a profile may remain as historical state information. Kentucky's dated Daily Releases reports record actual KDOC events and exact release types. A final Board order can establish a grant, deferment, serve-out, or other parole action, while KOOL and the release report show whether physical release followed.

Probation requires attention to the signed court file. The Logan County Court of Justice can preserve the sentence, amendment, revocation, or completion record after a person disappears from a live jail roster. A completed court case does not by itself rule out another case, detainer, or supervision term. Pair the legal order with the relevant custody or state status.

For a final parole decision, request the existing order from the Justice and Public Safety Cabinet records custodian. Include the name, DOC number, and hearing date. The Kentucky Open Records Act permits a precise request for existing records, while lawful exemptions and redactions may still apply.

Logan County Absconder Status

KOOL may mark a supervision record “ABSCONDED.” That is not proof that the person finished parole or probation. It signals an unresolved supervision issue. Under 501 KAR 1:040, a parole-warrant process may follow documentation that a parolee appears to have absconded or become a fugitive. The status should be reported without guessing at conduct or outcome.

A warrant, revocation hearing, and return to custody are separate events. Check the current KOOL profile, District 2 instructions, and any filed court or Board record. VINE may report a later custody event, but it is a notification system rather than a certified supervision history. The correct wording is that the public profile showed an unresolved absconder status on the date checked.

Do not treat lack of phone detail as proof that a warrant vanished. Exact dates and official terms help avoid a false claim of discharge.

Logan County Release Support Contacts

KDOC publishes a District 2 resource manual with Logan-specific contacts for education, the library, community action, recovery, behavioral health, legal aid, identification, vital records, and transportation. A Region 2 reentry coordinator covers Logan County. The published county-jail coordinator list does not assign a separate Logan coordinator.

These listings are navigation aids. They do not prove that a named person was referred, enrolled, or given a service. Verify present terms with the listed provider because programs and eligibility can change. Supervision requirements still come from the controlling court, KDOC, or Parole Board record.

The distinction is useful. A release service may help with a practical need, while a supervision office verifies reporting status and agency instructions.

Property After Logan County Release

Logan has a specific post-release property rule. The detention center property page says inmate-approved family or friends have 30 days after release to collect property that was not permitted in the facility. After that period, the property is disposed. This deadline concerns property, not parole or probation status.

A released person or approved contact should use the detention center's current instructions before visiting. The rule does not show whether the release was by bond, time served, supervision, transfer, or another event. Keep the property issue separate from KOOL and District 2 verification.

The detention center also states that it will try to verify and correct inmate-record errors when notified. Cite the exact record and explain the claimed error. A correction to a jail entry does not automatically change a court or KDOC record, so contact the office that originated each disputed item.

Logan County Parole Hearing Records

Kentucky publishes monthly parole schedules and eligibility lists. The official schedules are updated on Mondays, and eligibility lists contain names, DOC numbers, locations, and eligibility months. A hearing can take place before the actual eligibility month. Appearance on a list is not a grant and is not proof of release.

The Board does not provide a comprehensive public name-searchable decisions database. After a hearing, compare KOOL with the proper dated Daily Releases report. If the final result itself is needed, request the Board order. This sequence separates eligibility, decision, physical release, and later supervision.

The official monthly schedule page shows how hearing timing is organized.

The schedule is a timing source, while KOOL, Daily Releases, and the final order answer different parts of the release record.

Logan County Supervision Cross-Checks

The Logan detention page verifies the jail source, the county VINE page documents notifications, and the Logan Court of Justice page identifies the clerk for probation orders. Use them with KOOL and District 2 rather than treating one record as a complete supervision history.

A jail departure answers when Logan custody ended. A court file answers what the judge ordered. KOOL and District 2 answer state supervision status. VINE can flag a later custody event. Keeping those roles separate prevents a release from one custodian from being mistaken for final discharge.
